What does OKFC stand for?

Orlando Kayak Fishing club

What does this club do?

We are Kayakers that enjoy sight fishing for Tailing Reds (red drum)
in the Mosquito lagoon, Indian river (IRL) and the No Motor Zone (NMZ)
Most of us live in the Central Florida area
We are also prone to catch other species such as SnookBlack DrumSharks and flounder.

Can I join?

There are no dues or requirements to join.
We actively encourage anyone to join as safety in numbers is always recommended on the water.

How do I join?

Simply participate in the forum and introduce yourself, just show up at one of our meetings or at one of the monthly outings

We have a monthly meeting & Outings posted on our calendar

When & where do you meet?

We meet once a month at either Bass pro, Mosquito creek outfitters or Gander Mountain. The location is posted on our Calendar and info with Directions are located on our meetings page.  Anyone going out will also post when & where they are planning a excursion in addition to the group events on the Forum

Learning a few select knots will be all you need. Knots by Grog is a good starting point

Our Weather & Map page is a good starting point. Check conditions just prior to leaving is advisable as conditions can change overnight.

I'm thinking on going fishing outside of this area. Do you have any info elsewhere?

We maintain good relationships with other groups. Usually by posting on their forums & letting them know you are coming into the area they will offer to hook up with members & go fishing. We do the same for their group members.
