Standing up on Tarpon 120
« on: May 12, 2012, 07:33:30 AM »
Just got a 2012 Wilderness System Tarpon 120 and want to stand up and sight fish. I stood up on it but not much room in the midden of the yak, and hurt my feet on the seat clips. Am getting pontoons but was wondering ig I should mount them in the rear or towards the front of the yak (would that help me stand more towards the front) on the mounting rails? When I stand towards the front there is space for my feet but puts to much weight on the bow and caNt steer.

I have a T120 and I too bought some pontoons. I mounted mine on the back. The only problem I have with them is when I am poling the pole will hit the aluminum extension bar. I can remedy this by moving the brackets further back but have not. The kayak is now super stable, when I have them on. Here are some links for you.
Here is my setup.

Here is a helpful discussion about poling. And my kayak on the water!

You will have a real fun time finding fish and tossing to them.  PM if you would like some ideas on where the cleaner water is that will give you better visibility.
